Great article. I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to manage APR Energy in a prior life. It’s been fascinating to see how the data center boom has completely reversed the trajectory for mobile gas turbines. I’d also be curious to see what the impact will be on turbine wear and tear, given that many of these are older GE assets with significant run hours and data centers will likely require them to operate at or near peak load 24/7.
Great article. Keep an eye on Siemens Energy – it is one of the global leaders in the manufacture and maintenance of gas turbines, with a global market share of over 40%
Yes, I think traditional utilities will benefit over time.
Personally, I prefer the GRID ETF over XLU because it provides broader exposure to the companies building and enabling the grid infrastructure needed for the AI power buildout, rather than just regulated electric utilities.
It says more about how severe the energy shortage is becoming.
If even Elon Musk, a longtime supporter of clean energy through Tesla, solar, and batteries, is investing billions in gas turbines, it tells us reliable power is the immediate priority.
Great article once again. I work in energy sector. AI Energy is going to be one of the most compelling investment themes for years to come.
#GEV and #BE are great!

Great article! Always knew $CAT was a generational company. Boring, safe, diversified and profitable
Will the traditional companies in Utilities etf XLU eventually get a bid in this space?

Perhaps Solaris is a future acquisition target?
Any good ETF? Or which one to choose? which one is mostly winning AI contracts?
